The company’s consolidated financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting practices adopted in Brazil, based on Brazilian Corporate Law and in accordance with the regulations of the Brazilian SEC, known locally as the CVM (“BR GAAP”). The financial information herein presented is pro forma, aiming to reflect the effects of the partial spin-off on 31 March 2006, which involved the removal of goods, rights and obligations from our balance sheet that were not-related to our core activities – which are making crackers and cookies and pasta, flour and bran, margarines and vegetable shortenings.
